Solar Equipment

Solar Panels, Inverters and optimizers can fail and whether they are still under the manufacturer warranty or not, we are here to get your system back up and running as soon as possible.

Solar Panel

Solar panels can fail for a number of different reasons. We have seen the glass on the panels crack from golf balls or rocks and sometimes there is a failure within the module. Whether the solar panel is still under the manufacturer warranty or not, we will work with you to find the right replacement and get your system back up and running.

String Inverter

String inverters are complex mechanical devises and are susceptible to failure overtime. When a central inverter fails, it affects the production of all solar panels feeding the inverter. Acting quickly is important to ensuring minimal loss of production on your system. System monitoring can usually be purchased to track string inverter production and increase the probability of catching an issue quickly.

The primary function of a string inverter is to take direct current (DC) electricity produced by the solar panels and converting this power to alternating current (AC) electricity, which can be used in your household. A string inverter can handle numerous solar panels and they are more susceptible to a loss of productivity due to shading compared to optimizers and micro inverters.

Micro Inverter

Micro inverters are complex mechanical devises and their compact design can lead to overheating and other failures. When we monitor your system, we can typically identify these issues right away and replace the inverter to limit your system down-time. 

Micro inverters are installed on the panel or racking underneath the solar panels. Their primary function is taking direct current (DC) electricity produced by the solar panels and converting this power to alternating current (AC) electricity, which can be used in your household. There is a single micro inverter for each solar panel, and therefore they are highly efficient at isolating shading issues and failures in a solar system. System monitoring is typically included with a micro inverter system.

Optimizer

Optimizers have internal failures and when we monitor your system, we are able to catch the issue and replace the device to minimize your system down-time.

Optimizers are paired with a string inverter system to eliminate the negative effects of shading and to allow for individual solar panel monitoring. There is a single optimizer installed underneath each solar panel and this allows for the production of each solar panel to be isolated from the others. On a typical string inverter without optimizers, one shaded panel would bring down the production of all other solar panels tied together with it on the same string.  System monitoring is typically included with an optimizer system.
