How to Reconnect Your Enphase Envoy to Wi-Fi – A Step-by-Step Guide from First Response Solar

At First Response Solar, we understand how important it is for you to monitor your solar production through the Enphase App. If you’ve noticed your system is no longer reporting or shows as “offline,” it’s likely that your Enphase Envoy has lost connection to your home’s Wi-Fi or there is an glitch/issue with the monitoring.

Step 1: Check if Your Envoy Is Offline

  1. Open the Enphase App (Enlighten) on your phone and check the system status. If it says “Not Reporting” or “Offline,” then your Envoy is no longer connected to Wi-Fi or there is an glitch/issue with the monitoring.

Step 2: If the Envoy (monitoring device) is offline first try reseting the entire monitoring system.

  1. If you have a Enphase solar only system or Enphase grid tied system (savings battery), go to the Enphase monitoring box for your solar system. Below is a photo of what the box looks like. This box has had variations of looks over the years but it will look similar to the photo below.

    1. When you open this box, you will see several breakers. The breakers that are 20A are for the solar but there should be 1 breaker in the box that is either 10A or 15A and this breaker is for the solar monitoring. Before you do anything, please take a picture of the lights onside the box and text this photo to 707.861.0388.

    2. After you take a photo of the lights, turn off the 10A or 15A breaker in this box and the lights (red or green) will turn off. Keep this breaker off for 5-10 minutes and then turn it back on. Sometimes by doing this you will reset the solar monitoring and fix any issue that were causing the problem.

  2. If you have a Enphase backup battery system, the solar monitoring breaker will be located in the Enphase controller (transfer switch). Please follow the below steps if you have an Enphase battery backup system. Below is a photo of what the box looks like.

  1. Open this box by opening 3 levers. This box is a little tricky to open. You will have to pull the latches towards you while pulling them out away from the box. Inside the box you will locate the area where the breakers are locate. As shown in the below photo you will want to turn off the 20A breaker with the metal tab and this will turn off the monitoring devise for the entire system. Make sure not to turn off the other 40A breaker that is inside the 20A monitoring breaker. Keep this breaker off for 5-10 minutes and then turn it back on. Sometimes by doing this you will reset the solar monitoring and fix any issue that were causing the problem.

Step 3: If reseting the monitoring does not work try reconnecting your home wifi to the monitoring device.

  1. Stand next to the solar monitoring box and follow the instruction in the below video. This will enable you to reconnect your solar monitoring to your home WIFI.

Helpful Tips

  • New Router or Password? If you recently updated your Wi-Fi name or password, the Envoy will need to be reconnected using the steps above.

  • Weak Signal? If your router is far from the Envoy, consider using a Wi-Fi range extender to improve signal strength.

  • Still not connecting? Try turning off the breaker that powers the Envoy, wait 5 minutes, then turn it back on.
