How To Get My PG&E Historical Data

Updated: Apr 11, 2023

Go to www.pge.com and click sign in.

Enter your username and password and press “Sign In” to log into your account.

Before you download the monthly or hourly kilowatt data from PG&E, make sure to download a PDF copy of your last PG&E bill to send to us. Once you click on “View Current Bill (PDF)”, it will download to your computer, and you can attach the PDF document to an email you send to us.

On the log in page of your account, you should see a screen like the one below. It may look a little different since you currently do not have solar. In the middle of your screen, you will see the section I have boxed in red that reads “Energy Usage Details”. Click on this.

Once you click on “Energy Usage Details” it will take you to a page with a graph where you can toggle in between to see your usage based on year view, bill view and day view.

Exporting PG&E Kilowatt Data (Monthly Format)

To export your data in the form of monthly kilowatt usage, click on bill view and then scroll down and click on “Green Button-Download my data”.

The below screen will appear. Make sure under time period, “export all bill totals” is clicked. Under format make sure “CSV” is clicked and press export.

A zip folder will download to your computer. You can either send me this entire zip folder or just send me the electrical usage CSV file that is inside of this folder.

Exporting PG&E Kilowatt Data (Hourly Format)

To export your data in the form of hourly kilowatt usage, click on bill view and then scroll down and click on “Green Button-Download my data”.

The below screen will appear. Make sure under the section named (Time Period) the button, “Export usage for a range of days” is clicked. Then change the date under “From” to one year prior to the current date selected. Under format make sure “CSV” is clicked and press export.

A zip folder will download to your computer call “DailyUsageData”. You can either send me this entire zip folder or just send me the electrical usage CSV file that is inside of this folder.

If you have correctly followed the instructions, the three documents you should have to send back to First Response Solar to analyze your past usage are;

  1. A PDF copy of your most recent PG&E bill (PDF)

  2. The monthly historical kilowatt usage data (ZIP Folder)

  3. The hourly historical kilowatt usage data (ZIP Folder)

Sending First Response Solar the past 12 months of usage information in both the monthly and hourly format is the most accurate way for us to analyze your usage and design the best system for your home. It takes a little more time but it provides us much more information so we can more accurately analyze your past usage and be able to work with you to provide the best system for your home.
